Adventurous? Then this is the tour for you. Ride through the breathtaking mountains and valleys to a traditional Icelandic cottage, try the local delicacies and enjoy the company of your horse and the wind in your hair. If you want to tölt your horse then this tour will let you try not only tölting but potentially all 5 gaits. Food and refreshments will be supplied.

This full day tour will consist of a brief introduction and orientation to riding Icelandic horses. Then we set out for riding depending on weather conditions. The journey will take us across meadows, through mountain passes and to the beautiful Baugasel Turf house. We then return to Stable Stop for dismounting, photo opportunities with your noble steed and some light refreshments.

REQUIRED CLOTHING:

Riding shoes or any general boots, gloves, long pants and multiple layers of clothing you can take off depending on the day’s weather.

This tour departs from Stable Stop.

Pick-up & drop-off can be arranged prior to departure day from Akureyri at an additional fee.

Guests need to arrive 15 minutes before departure.
